Foundation years
CBACK went online on November 14, 1999. Our founder and CEO is Christian Knerr. Initially, CBACK.de was a mere online guide for computing
systems. Our abbreviation stems from this time: Computerberatung Christian Knerr which is German for
"Computer Counseling Christian Knerr". With all kinds of tricks and dodges, we stood apart from many other websites, and with word
of mouth we became an authority site in our niche.
The big German magazine Computer BILD assisted in our break-through: the issue 14/2003 included a half-page review about our site
with a favorable feedback which was enormous for a private-based one-man site at the time. We implemented the suggestions made in the magazine
and with continuous efforts became successfull: Awards like "cool advice" on computer.de helped promoting the company.
An International Enterprise
Following the first big restructuring in 2004, CBACK was renamed in "Computing & Business Applications Christian Knerr".
We implemented new tricks and dodges and launched Orion – a forum software that was a phpBB fork and became a big success with many users. Christian Knerr
developed the security system "CrackerTracker" which keeps hundreds of thousands of forums and scripts worldwide safe up until this day. We were awarded
numerous times for these and other OpenSource scripts and modifications
Authoring a book with DATA BECKER
In 2005, Christian Knerr and 4 co-authors wrote a big book and got published with DATA BECKER. In the book, many forum and web strategies were
explained. Christian Knerr wrote the chapters about safety that translated his understanding in safe PHP coding and forum security to a broad audience.
